Mesquite Leaves Loose Leaf Herbal Tea
Origin and Characteristics
Mesquite leaves come from trees in the genus Prosopis, which are native to arid regions of the American Southwest, northern Mexico, and parts of South America. In the Sonoran Desert, mesquite is one of the most important native plants, providing food, shade, and habitat for wildlife.
While mesquite pods are more commonly used for flour and sweet culinary applications, the young leaves have also been used traditionally in herbal preparations. Dried mesquite leaves produce a light, earthy herbal infusion that reflects the desert landscape from which they come.
Flavor Profile
Mild and earthy, soft woody character, subtle green notes, slight mineral quality, gentle sweetness on the finish.
Ingredients
Young Mesquite Leaves
