Gunpowder Green Loose Leaf Green Tea
Origin and Characteristics
A classic Chinese green tea with centuries of history, Gunpowder Green is prized for its tightly rolled leaves, bold flavor, and remarkable versatility. As the leaves unfurl, they release notes of fresh grass, roasted chestnut, toasted grain, and a hint of natural smokiness.
Smooth yet invigorating, this green tea delivers a rich, satisfying cup that bridges the gap between delicate green teas and more robust tea styles. Whether enjoyed hot or iced, Gunpowder Green offers a refreshing experience with a clean finish and lingering sweetness.
At Tea & Hammock, we appreciate Gunpowder Green for its balance of strength and freshness—a tea that feels both energizing and grounding.
Perfect For: Green tea lovers, Moroccan mint tea enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a bold, traditional green tea.

Gunpowder Green Tea contains naturally occurring antioxidants and a moderate amount of caffeine, creating a cup that feels both refreshing and invigorating. Smooth, bold, and deeply rooted in tradition, it’s a tea that invites you to slow down while staying present and energized.
Preparation
To brew Gunpowder tea the water should not exceed 185 degrees. Steep 1 tsp tea per 8oz at 175–185°F degrees water for 2-3 minutes. You can infuse the tea 2-4 times.
Tea & Hammock Tip:
Avoid boiling water. Lower temperatures preserve the tea’s natural sweetness and prevent bitterness while allowing its chestnut and mineral notes to shine.
