Jasmine Pearls tea, also known as Jasmine Dragon Phoenix Pearls, is a high-grade green tea that originates from the Fujian region of China. This tea is renowned for its exquisite flavor and aroma, which results from a meticulous process of hand-picking and scenting the tea leaves with fresh jasmine flowers. The leaves are carefully shaped into small pearls that unfurl when steeped, releasing their rich jasmine bouquet. “It takes at least 2000 pearls to make one pound of tea. The rolled pearls are then heat infused with jasmine flowers several times to achieve the desired strength of aroma. High grade Jasmine Pearls undergo this process at least five times.”

Jasmine Pearl tea stands out not only for its sensory qualities but also for its historical roots in Chinese culture. In addition to its delightful taste and health benefits, Jasmine Pearls have cultural significance in Chinese tea traditions. The art of making this tea reflects centuries-old practices that emphasize quality and craftsmanship.

The brew typically has a pale orange color and is appreciated for its refined taste that is clean across the palate. Due to its medium caffeine content, it can serve as an alternative to coffee while providing additional health benefits associated with green tea consumption.

Preparation Instructions

To brew Jasmine Pearls effectively:

The temperature of the water should be under boiling (185ºF). If the water is too hot it will scald the tea and produce a bitter flavor. You can add the pearls directly into a teapot or cup, steep for about 2-3 minutes using approximately 2 teaspoons (apx 20 pearls) of tea per 8 oz cup. The whole leaves sink to the bottom which makes it easy to pour and sip. This tea is good for 2 – 3 infusions.
