Lotus tea is a diverse category of infusions made from various parts of the lotus plant, including leaves, flowers, roots, seeds, and embryos. Each type of lotus tea has its unique preparation methods and potential health benefits.

Our Lotus tea is “grown in the northern province of Thai Nguyen in Vietnam, Che Sen, or Lotus tea, is a fine green tea infused with the aroma of lotus flower blossoms.”

Love this story “King Tu Duc, during the Nguyen dynasty in the ancient capital of Hue on the central coast (1848-1883), was renowned for drinking lotus-scented tea in a very special way. In the afternoon, those who worked for him would row to a lotus-growing lake in the royal garden where they would put a small handful of tea into each lotus blossom and then bind the petals around the tea. The tea would dry inside the flower overnight while absorbing the scent of the petals. The next morning the tea would be picked from the lotus lake and offered to the king for his morning refreshment. This old-style method of scenting tea is now rare (called Lotus Ancien)”.

Here at Tea and Hammock, we enjoy the flavor of these two so much that we provide you with a blend which gives you the ultimate experience of Lotus tea while keeping the cost down.

Lotus tea encompasses a variety of infusions derived from different parts of the lotus plant, each with unique flavors and potential health benefits that can be enjoyed through various brewing techniques.
